Spanish language local news network, announced it will commemorate the
10-year anniversary of Pura Política, with a special documentary
with highlights from the past decade of the longest-running local
Spanish language political talk show in New York City, on Friday, June 5th
at 6 p.m. and 11p.m.

Más de 24 horas llevan sin energía los habitantes de Buenaventura. Alrededor de 500 mil habitantes se han visto afectadas luego que el frente 30 de las FARC derribara la torre 17 de energía, en el sector de Aguaclara, la cual suministra el servicio en este municipio del Valle del Cauca.

La estructura fue dinamitada por el grupo guerrillero en la mañana del pasado domingo. La explosión averió el sistema que lleva electricidad desde la central hidroeléctrica del Bajo de Anchicayá, hasta el principal puerto en el Pacífico, dejando sin luz a toda su población.

Tras esta situación, las autoridades permanecen en máxima alerta por lo que se ha redoblado la seguridad en sedes gubernamentales para evitar situaciones irregulares.

“Rechazo estos hechos que perturban la tranquilidad, la movilidad y la convivencia pacífica que tenemos en Buenaventura”, manifestó Bartolo Valencia, alcalde de Buenaventura.

Algunos establecimientos abrieron, ya que sus dueños se encuentran utilizando plantas eléctricas, sin embargo aseguran que el hecho los afecta bastante y solicitan al Gobierno un plan para enfrentar estas emergencias en el puerto. 

“Nosotros hemos calculado que un primer día de apagón está alrededor de los $600 millones y cada día que va pasando se va incrementando la pérdida“, afirmó Alexander Micolta, presidente de la Cámara de Comercio del municipio.

Personal de la empresa EPSA, encargada de suministrar el servicio a la población, se dirigieron al lugar del atentado para arreglar los daños causados por el mismo y por reestablecer el servicio. Miembros de la Fuerza pública también intenta acceder a la zona para brindar seguridad a los trabajadores.  

Según el comandante de la Fuerza Naval del Pacifico, las dificultades para ingresar a la zona donde fue derribada la torre harán más difíciles los trabajos de recuperación del sistema.

“Cuando se trabajan con explosivos hay que tener mucho cuidado, hay que hacerlo siguiendo todos los protocolos. No queremos que a esta tragedia de dejar a Buenaventura sin energía se nos convierta en una tragedia humana”, afirmó el contralmirante, Ernesto Durán, comandante de la Fuerza Naval del Pacífico.

“Esto pasó de castaño a oscuro. El Gobierno central debería tener un plan de contingencia porque esto ya es costumbre“, manifestó por su parte una habitante del puerto.

A través de su cuenta de Twitter el Ministerio de Defensa también rechazó este hecho, sosteniendo que nada justifica el atentar contra la seguridad de los colombianos.

Ejemplar de Apple-I, el primer modelo de computadora creada por Apple, en 1976.

Una de las primeras computadoras fabricadas por Apple, la Apple-I, apareció dentro de una caja de basura electrónica donada a una compañía de reciclaje que opera en Sillicon Valley, en Estados Unidos.

La máquina, de 1976, fue vendida por US$200.000, y ahora la compañía busca a la mujer que anónimamente dejó la caja en abril en su centro de reciclaje para compartir la mitad del dinero con ella.

La política de CleanBayArea, en Milpitas, California, es compartir al 50% los beneficios recaudados por la venta de equipos.

La Apple-I estaba escondida en el fondo de una caja, bajo una maraña de cables, teclados y ratones, según le describió a la BBC el vicepresidente de márketing de la compañía, Viktor Gichun.

“Por eso creo que no debió ver la computadora, como tampoco la vimos nosotros cuando nos entregaron la caja al principio”, explicó.

Gichun contó que cuando la vieron por primera vez no se dieron cuenta del valor que tenía.

“Pensé que era basura que teníamos que reciclar”, comentó riéndose.

Una máquina de colección


En 2010 este ejemplar de Apple-I se vendió en su embalaje original en una subasta de Christie´s en Londres por US$210.000.

Este ejemplar es uno de los sólo 200 modelos que se fabricaron.

Salió a la venta en 1976, el mismo año en que Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak y Ronald Wayne fundaron la empresa, que empezó operando desde el garage de los padres de Jobs.

La Apple-I fue el primer producto fabricado por la compañía Apple y fue ensamblada a mano por el propio Wozniak.

Se vendió entonces por US$666,66 (el equivalente a unos $2.763 en 2015, ajustados a la inflación).

1.000 veces más lenta y hecha de madera

A pesar de su gran valor como objeto de colección, el procesador de la Apple-I es 1.000 veces más lento que el de la actual tableta de Apple, el iPad.

Gichun le dijo a la BBC que nunca había visto antes una computadora tan vieja y no supo reconocer inicialmente el valor que tenía.

“Esta máquina fue fabricada hace 30 años, cuando yo tenía sólo 4 años. Yo nunca había visto antes una computadora hecha de madera”, comentó.

“No es como las computadoras que usamos hoy en día. No tiene un monitor, es un teclado y un cuerpo de madera y un plato en la parte de atrás del teclado”.

“Tenía la palabra Apple escrita, pero no el logo que conocemos”.

“Parecía algo hecho con cuchillo y a golpes, como por divertimento”.

“Cuando la vi por primera vez dije, ¿qué es esto? ¿es de verdad?”, recordó animadamente.

Así que llamó a su socio, que está a cargo de las ventas y le preguntó qué le parecía aquello.

Fue él quién se dio cuenta de que estaban ante algo de valor, aunque en ese momento aún no se imaginaban cuánto.

El coleccionista que pagó en metálico

Después de investigar en internet, el socio de Gichun encontró que otro ejemplar Apple-I se había vendido recientmente por US200.000.

Fue así como encontraron a un coleccionista que visitó el almacén.

“No hizo preguntas, sólo la miró, porque yo creo que él entendía mucho, mucho más que nosotros qué era aquello”, recuerda Gichun.

Y enseguida les preguntó “¿cuánto quieren por esto?”.

Cuenta Gichun entre risas que los socios con algo de timidez le dijeron que US200.000.

“Cuando lo dijimos no nos creíamos que fuera a pagar eso. Habríamos quedado contentos con 100.000”.

Y el dijo “Ok, nos vemos mañana”.

Y al día siguiente llegó con el dinero en metálico, le contó Gichun a la BBC mientras se reía a carcajadas, como si áun no acabara de creérselo.

“Es ridículo”, dijo riéndose.

En busca de la misteriosa dueña

Ahora, la compañía de reciclaje está buscando a la donante que depositó la caja para entregarle un cheque de US$100.000.

Gichun dice que se acuerda perfectamente de ella y de su coche y que sospecha que vive cerca porque “normalmente no te alejas mucho para ir a deshacerte de tres cajas de basura electrónica”.

Según la descripción del joven, era blanca y mayor de 60 años.

“Esperamos encontrarla porque hoy todos los medios están hablando de esto”, dijo.

Había una vez en que el feminismo, y los sectores progres de la sociedad que recogían sus banderas, abogaban por los derechos sexuales de las mujeres y condenaban su consumo como objeto erótico con fecha de vencimiento.

¿Ya no más? Eso parece indicar el escándalo que despertó la tapa de NOTICIAS sobre la hipótesis de una Cristina eternizada en el poder. A juzgar por el enojo viralizado en las redes sociales, lo prudente hubiera sido apelar a una imagen que negara el efecto del tiempo. A ver si entiendo: Envejecer es un insulto.

La sacralidad presidencial ya se había considerado mancillada por la tapa “El goce de Cristina” en la que, también una ilustración (vade retro Charlie Hebdo) agitaba el fantasma del placer femenino. Se llegó al absurdo de debatir en el Congreso un repudio a NOTICIAS por incurrir en “violencia de género”. Más hubiera valido que usaran ese tiempo en blindar con leyes a las mujeres que verdaderamente la padecen y por las que se marchará masivamente el miércoles bajo el reclamo #NiUnaMenos.

Mandar y gozar era un pecado al cuadrado. Y parece que si encima es con arrugas y pelo blanco, adquiere carácter de afrenta. Apelo a la solidaridad K para que me acerquen un GPS de corrección política. El mío se tildó recalculando.

El exatleta Bruce Jenner realizó su primera portada convertida en toda una mujer en la última edición de la revista Vanity Fair. La sesión de fotos a cargo de la fotógrafa Annie Leibovitz muestra el cambio drástico al que se ha sometido el patriarca del clan Kardashian.

Como se recuerda, Bruce confirmó en una entrevista para ’20/20’ que cambiará de sexo, además habló de lo que significó para él su proceso de transición a ser mujer.

“Sí, para todos los efectos soy una mujer. La gente me ve de manera distinta, como un macho, pero en mi corazón y alma, en todo lo que hago en la vida, es parte de mí, este lado femenino es parte de mí, es quién soy. No nací genéticamente de esta manera”.

“No soy gay, hasta donde sé soy heterosexual. Nunca he estado con un chico, nunca me atrajeron los hombres, la sexualidad era un asunto diferente. Es muy confuso”, argumentó el padrastro de Kim Kardashian.

3. El crecimiento del sector manufacturero de la zona euro fue más débil de lo que se pensó previamente el mes pasado, luego de que países como Alemania y Francia continuaron en dificultades, según un sondeo a empresas.

El comandante de la Brigada de Infantería de Marina Número 2, coronel Carlos Mario Díaz, informó que la torre 17 ubicada en Aguaclara fue derribada durante un atentado terrorista en la mañana del domingo 31 de mayo.

El oficial explicó que en la zona del hecho tiene injerencia el frente 30 de las FARC y que, tras un sobrevuelo con aeronaves de la Fuerza Naval del Pacífico y la Armada Nacional, se estableció que hubo uso de explosivos.

Ingenieros y trabajadores de la  Empresa de Energía del Pacífico, EPSA, se trasladaron a la zona escoltados por miembros de la fuerza pública para llevar a cabo las reparaciones correspondientes y así restablecer el servicio de energía en Buenaventura, donde más de 500 mil personas resultaron afectadas.

El coronel Díaz aseguró los hospitales y centros asistenciales son los más afectados con el apagón, razón por la cual los pacientes en delicado estado de salud están siendo trasladados a Cali. 

Entretanto, el alcalde Bartolo Valencia también expresó su indignación. “Rechazo estos hechos que perturban la tranquilidad, la acción, la movilidad y la convivencia pacífica que tenemos en Buenaventura”, dijo.

El atentado destruyó el sistema que lleva el fluido eléctrico desde la central hidroeléctrica del Bajo Anchicayá hasta el principal puerto sobre el pacífico colombiano.
